Muran Grass

The sun was sinking low in a Hebridean sky and I was taking photos of patterns in the sand on Cliff Beach. As I drifted along the beach my eye was drawn to this clump of the archetypal "muran grass" that gives Hebridean and West Coast of Scotland "machair" land its distinctive appearance.
