Snowdrop carpet.

At Lochwinnoch today and watched a cormorant catch a large pike. It had quite a fight with it, holding it underwater trying to drown it, coming up again and trying to control it. Eventually the cormorant won and came up and down the pike went head first into its beak. There were also 350 Canada Geese. Along with lots of different birds at the feeders there were several long tailed tits and Stumpy (so called as it is a long tailed tit without its long tail). Nobody knows why but it manages fine without it. After doing various jobs around the reserve, I walked along the trail and because of the flooding heard the squeal of a Water Rail. I have never seen one just heard them. Then walked further along the trail and saw these snowdrops. This is just a small section of them.
