Lake Washington Ship Canal

1/28/2014 ~ Lake Washington Ship Canal linking North Lake Union to Portage Bay, Eastlake Neighborhood, Seattle, WA

This photo is taken from the South Passage Point Park while standing under the Ship Canal Bridge, Interstate I5 in Seattle. Directly across the way is the tug boat Triton which moves barges in-between Seattle and Alaska come the spring and summer time. The University of Washington tower is the largest building on the right hand side of the image. The John Stanford International School is located on the far top left, next to the utility tower, which enrolls students kindergarden through the 5th grade. The school offers a dual-language immersion program to all students in Spanish and Japanese and is located in the Wallingford neighborhood. On the other side of the bridge is the University District neighborhood.
