A heavy read

Another trip to Saltaire today. It's a huge place and I wanted to explore further. This shows one of the huge weaving halls that would have been crammed full of looms churning out cloth. The scale of this factory is breathtaking. The original iron columns are decorated with Egyptian motifs. Architectural style was extremely important sometimes overriding practicality. It now serves as a bookshop connected to another vast hall which has designer kitchen ware and yet another massive area is a restaurant. That's just one floor of the factory.
