Very Thirsty Weather

Our feathered friends are now regular visitors.

It is soothing to watch their antics as they drink and scout our green, moist backyard for some tasty morsel. They seem to have great eyesight!

After quite a few evenings of observation, it is also interesting to hear they actually "talk" to each other in a sort of warble of very low tones whenever their wanderings bring them together into a little cluster.

Tonight, Maureen had just replenished her garden and pots with a drink and also the water bowl seen here.

Some five magpies soon arrived to quench their thirst and by the time I got my camera they had finished. These guys kindly remained and posed. Quite by accident I got a lovely colour contrast with the black, orange and green.

Another very hot day looms.
