Critical adjustment

Halfway through a six mile walk in heavy mud, its necessary to adjust the knee brace.

She damaged her knee several years back, but - because that was the least of her problems -  it was always being put on the back burner. She just limped a lot.

In fact she'd ruptured her cruciate ligament. Gosh, I felt such a bad mother.

It was eventually operated on, but if you have a whole lot of seizures you can't keep a knee safe and so it went wrong again pretty quickly.

These days they say stick to the brace, dear.  They will operate again when (if) she's had 3 seizure-free months, because she'll need that afterwards to prevent further damage.

Which sadly means  it will be fixed on the 1st of Never.

Lucky she's brave as brave, eh?
