Heart Stopping Moments

With the Sports Ball now just a day away it was all hands on deck tonight to transport all the decorations to the Radisson Blu.

As we were carrying things to the van, I decided to have a sneak peek at the headless cardboard stand-ins that we had bought. The first stand-in allows you to look like you are running alongside Usain Bolt - actually"alongside" may be the wrong choice of word, "miles behind" may be more accurate.

When the second stand-in was pulled out it looked fantastic. You and a friend standing alongside a Commonwealth medalists. However, when we realised who the athlete stood in the middle was you could hear a pin drop.

Now, I must say I do believe in innocent until proven guilty but I wouldn't imagine many people would be impressed with a full-sized cutout of an athlete who is charged for murder, at a university Sports Ball.

Thankfully, we have the option to remove his face from the stand-in, although sadly a picture of my reaction will not be available for any cardboard cutouts.

A truly heart stopping moment for all the wrong reasons.
