Bent Grasses

On the patio, the bent ornamental grasses, long since cut down by the winter frosts, assumed lithe bows in their urn as though awaiting applause for their performance. We await the new green shoots to push up between the brown, dry stalks, when we will tear away last years’ debris. For now, we enjoy the grace of the spent stalks.
