The Sweet & The Unbelievable
Munni in a warm place where Moot can't hunt her down.
Hunting has been on my mind today.
Mainly because of the stupidity of a man.
Imagine you were a man.
A man with a Government job at an environment protection agency.
Your specific role is as the department leader for the protection of endangered species.
You go to a conference in in early December 2013 in Botswana all about the illegal Ivory Trade and what can be done against it.
Can you imagine then, four days later, paying 20,000 Euros (about 16,500 GBP) for a hunting license and then shooting an Elephant?
Before that became illegal on the first of January of this year.
And then photographing yourself next to the corpse of the elephant.
Then sending an E-mail (with the photographs) to colleagues telling them about how much it weighed (3 tonnes), how tall it was at the shoulder (3m), how old it was (about 40) and how you rose to the challenge of killing an animal that had no chance and were so happy that you managed it despite temperatures of 37°C and high humidity.
And then to compound this idiocy with venality, his boss says "he hasn't broken any laws".
Words fail me, just like politicians always do.
If you can read German then here's a link.
And the last sentence says that he has a picture of himself with the body of a lion that he has shot. Hanging up in his office.
If you'll premit me a bit of Denglish - unfeckingglaublich.
