Brothers Water

Mrs Wild, the lads and me always make a diary date for the Autumn to walk along the shore of Ulswater to revel in the Autumn colours. After sailing half way down the lake on the steamer it has now become for us an easy half day stroll back. As we walked from our digs this morning we got an early start so I tagged a bit on the end of the walk, an ascent of Place Fell 2250ft. The view from the top of the higher surrounding mountains was stunning as the low sun came out. This shot is looking south towards Brotherswater and Red Screes. As an added extra today we got very close to herd of red deer grazing on the slopes of the hill. Top day out followed by great meal and good beer.
