Laughter

Here's E laughing delightedly as Grandad swung him upside down and gave him kisses, with A's school "storybook character parade" in the background. Pure joy.

Today was a full, fun Friday. E and I enjoyed our weekly "stay home day" including morning cartoons and a visit from Grandad. We also spent a portion of the day at A's school, first to watch the parade of kids in literature-inspired costumes and later to help with her class harvest party - pumpkin pie, apple juice, and candy corn BINGO all around!

Post-school this afternoon, the kids and I baked and decorated Halloween sugar cookies and worked on a variety of autumn craft projects, including collages, putting faces on their tiny pumpkins (cutting eyes, noses, and mouths out of magazines and gluing them on), and making geese out of the funny green gourds we found at the pumpkin patch, complete with real feathers and construction-paper beaks.

Subsequently, I'm worn out - but the Halloween spirit in our house is high!
