Camera-Shy

A blustery day

We left in the sunshine and got there in the rain.
Wild, moody, violent, dismal, grey and very very windy.
And strangely - so was the weather. But I was still feeling the effects of far too much alcohol on Thursday night.

We had heard that the coastline was going to be violently battered and we weren't disappointed - the wind was so strong it was difficult to stand up and the rain on the promenade turned out to be saltwater spray.

Blackpool's famous fish and chips turned out to be very disappointing - the fish being more violently battered than the promenade and the chips re-heated. None of the things that used to make us go there time after time
were there any more. No huge huge pots of tea or piles of buttered bread and no atmosphere. It's been franchised to hell.

Oh well, a bloody good browse and a few purchases in Waterstones made up for it, so there's something to read in bed tonight.
