Inspiring people at work

This is the cafe inside our Glasgow office. A year ago there wasn't a proper cafe at all, just places to sit and eat your lunch on each floor of the building.

At lunchtimes everyone either ate out, went there own ways, or went into their own 'personal bubble'. Not very helpful for building a team atmosphere across 600 people who work here.

I consider I work for a forward thinking and fun company, and this is what they came up with.

We now have fun lighting, modern open white space, demonstration areas for all our mobile and broadband products, cool highback sofas, big screen for events, an entertainment hub in the centre with xbox/wii/tv/bean bags, nice food with friendly staff, and good coffee.

People are smiling, socialising, and even more proud of the company they work in.

NB: It looks a bit empty in the pics, but that's because all of the chairs were moved for 'roadshow' presentations to employees. Our CEO and 2 directors presented the company successes from 2013, aims for 2014, and invited questions from all. Yet another reason people feel involved, and happy with where they work :)
