Blue hour

It was an early rise again this morning. A cold one too. Around 07.00 am the destination was reached on the beach of Midwolda...that still sounds a bit silly, because you wouldn't expect a beach in this rural area of the Netherlands.

This lake, called the Oldambtmeer, is a very new lake and is the result of a project Blauwestad (Blue-city) that turned agricultural land into nature.
On May 12th 2005 our former queen Beatrix started to fill the lake by opening a water tap.
Nowadays this lake contains 14 million cubic meters of water and has a surface area of 800 hectar.
