Every Picture Tells .....

Two Ticks (out of Eight)

SATURDAY

Supposed to be going out to Manchester, but I made another trip over to York. Treated myself to a nice fish supper.

Roger de Clifford didn't fare well at the tower that bears his name in York - he was hanged here in 1322 for opposing Edward II.

The 400 Jews who were burned to death here didn't do that well either.

In 2014, the tower doesn't fare well for those with mobility problems as there are 55 steps to the entrance and even more steps inside! At least the English Heritage web site gives it a couple of ticks for mobility - one for the handrail (pictured) and one for welcoming assistance dogs.

Had some food in York and stayed over.
