Young Traditional Musician of The Year

To help the recovery of a post-Sports Ball hangover I went along to the Celtic Connections' Young Traditional Musician of The Year final at the Glasgow City Halls. I was there to cheer on Ian Smith, a good friend and one of the West Coast's finest box players.

Unfortunately, we never got the result we wanted, but as a true islander and gent he came along to the Park Bar for a good swally. The night was topped off with a fantastic impromptu performance from Ian and the fantastic fiddle player Neil Ewart.

I must finish off with a big congratulations to the winner of the event, Robyn Stapleton. A singer whose name I'm sure we'll hear and see more of.
