Another Day

Birds of a feather

A Buzzard turned up during the morning and landed on an apple tree just the other side of the fence. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get a decent shot of it through the window.

Mid-morning JJ and I set off for our local countryside park, only to find the river bridge closed due to flooding. After a sizeable detour we had a decent walk round the lake but there wasn't much of interest within shot. Cormorant island was very busy with - cormorants -, but it's too far for my camera. Hence the Mallard.

This afternoon has been very busy at the feeders and I saw the first Nuthatch of the year. At the same time there was a tree creeper on the Lime tree at the bottom of the garden. There was a lone Goldfinch feeding on the niger seeds, lots of Blue tits, Great tits and a couple of Coal tits. I managed to scare off a Greater Spotted Woodpecker (sorry), and then a Buzzard landed on the old telegraph pole in the parkland.

Hence the collage.
