An Avid Lensman

The Avon (still) Rushes and Gushes...

Hints of a sunset in Ringwood, where this old bridge lies cheek by jowl with the modern A31 dual carriageway down to the south west (just to left of pic, where that Texaco garage is).

I had to clamber right up the bank to within a couple feet of howling and speeding traffic to be able to get back down, with tripod, to this part of this flooded public park.

A one second exposure, Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens and much shadow smoothing and extraction. Worth looking in LARGE

So many thoughts and to the hugely sad loss of supreme actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman, without doubt a hugely talented actor. I know and have experienced some of the demons he did and it really is a shock and wake up call to us all.

I did watch and enjoy enormously the DVD of "Rush", the story of the battle and rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda. Highly recommended and certainly NOT just for petrolheads and Formula One addicts either.
