Plaits

When I was little I used to wind my pig tails around my fingers until they were tightly knotted and then let them go so they sometimes spun round. At primary school I can remember sitting cross legged on the floor during assembly and gazing at the ridiculously long plait hanging tantalisingly in front of me. It belonged to a girl called Julie MacIntyre and I longed to reach out and cut it off with a pair of scissors. I never did and luckily for Murron have no such compulsion now...
