Snowdrop carpet

I was walking round Queens Park with K today when we were approached by a man near the glasshouse. He asked if we were from near by, to which we both answered yes. He then asked if we knew what the monument was for. Again, we both answered yes and started to tell him of Mary Queen of Scots and the battle of Langside. he was very impressed and says he asks people regularly and we were the first to know about it. K even managed to tell him a couple of things he didn't know. Then headed back to work feeling knowledgeable... That doesn't happen often for me, especially in relation to anything historical.
