The civic

architecture of Manchester still inspires awe in me. As a boy, Manchester was the Big City in the south, reached after a serious drive down the A6 (count the factory chimneys was a good way to pass the time).

The inscription on the annex to the Art Galley, once the Athenaeum , is a lofty and splendid one - "For the Advancement and Diffusion of Knowledge".

That's why Sir Tim Berners-Lee is a Sir.

It's what I get from other blippers - they advance and diffuse knowledge.
