Sea Urchin

Christophe invited us to stay an extra day at the gîte, so we did. How wonderful to have another day all together. Joffrette arrived with Christine to take Mum to Besançon, where she will stay for a week before joining us again in the Auvergne. The rest of us went to Ornans to canoe on the River Loue. The children had great fun plowtering about and I left them all to it and walked into Ornans along the river. It's a beautiful town and I people watched from one of the old bridges. Two drunk men in a very small dingy floating below me and a wedding procession making it's way across the bridge led by a very happy bride and groom. I visited some of the Brocantes and had a sneaky icecream before being scooped up by Nick in the car. Back at the gîte we walked to the small Brasserie Entre 2 mondes. The beer is brewed on the premises and, as I found out, very strong! We had a great time sitting outside, by the fountain, drinking in the sunshine and left only when they closed.
