Re-Cycling #2

Besides herself ( re last Sunday's blip ), Maureen also lovingly recycles old woollen jumpers.

Made mention of this when proudly showing off her wall art in November last.

Felting these old jumpers, Maureen then refashions them into all manner of receptacles for....

Ipads, iphones, mobile phones, computers etc, to cover and protect.

Next Maureen enhances and adorns them with her creative needle felting and free motion sewing. Above are but a few examples.

Another variation on these skills is the felted pear filled with cloves.

Currently, Maureen is displaying her artistic wares at the Umbrella Collective, a commercial space provided by local government and manned by the artists themselves thus avoiding commission on their sales. Six women are presently in this group, two of whom Maureen has collaborated with in the past, namely Ann, Abby and Maureen

Ann is Maureen's sister who is an artist and painter of some 27 years and has her own gallery at home where she paints and conducts weekly painting lessons.
