Aboriginal art

A friend from the Northern Territory of Australia who visited us some years ago gave us this print. It was done by his wife, who is an Aboriginal artist. The fish is called a Noykal, and is the totem of her tribe. They have two children, therefore the fish has two gills. Her culture believes that when we die, we become a star in the heavens, hence the Milky Way in the background. When we visited the National Galley in Australia, we were delighted to find a whole wall covered with her work, and it has hung in our dining room ever since...
