E is for Empty

As mentioned in a blip the other day, Mrs W has treated herself to a fish tank, having talked about it for years and researched it endlessly more recently. We picked it up last weekend and having filled it and dechlorinated the water, we have to run it empty for a week at least to get the chemical balance right before introducing fish to it.

Because we put plants in to help that balancing process, we need to light it for a few hours a day so it is a little bit weird seeing the tank in the corner all lit up but devoid of fish. Roll on the weekend when we can get some tropical fish life in there and stop looking at a brightly lit bowl of water.
