The Oystercatchers

We had a little respite today from the wind and rain. As I went through Lochgilphead at lunchtime I noticed the numbers of ducks, gulls and waders up on the shore sleeping. They were far more than usual and they must have had a difficult few days with the weather. Species included Widgeon, teal, Curlew, black headed gulls along with the oystercatchers. There may have been more but I didn't have much time to look.

I liked this shot of the oystercatchers along the front of the town, this green has been underwater many times over the last few days and maybe there was plenty for them to eat there.
