Tonto National Monument

This is the lower cliff dwelling at Tonto National Monument. A 20 room dwelling, it probably began habitation around 1300 AD. The 60-70 people who lived here, left suddenly about 200 years later, long before Europeans arrived. There is no water, except a half mile away and 400' down.

Oh yes, that's a 150+ year old Saguaro cactus just in front.
