Golden Gate Bridge

Rain coming in through the Golden Gate.
As the weatherman might say, "It looks like the storm doors have opened". A light drizzle was falling when I took this picture, but the brisk wind and the choppy water are harbingers of a decent rainfall which might even last a few days! Halleluia!

We watched the wind pick up from the cafe in the Blue and Yellow flat pack emporium, where we had a very un-flatpack experience. OilMan had made one of his patented scale drawings of the corner we needed to fill in "our" office, so that I might be able to reclaim my desk. We found the items we hope (fingers crossed) will work, and found a lady in a blue and gold shirt to help us.

The blue and gold lady knew her stuff--she not only ordered the items, but she arranged for them to be delivered (since they won't fit in any car we own) AND she arranged for someone to pull the items from the shelf in the warehouse! All for a price, of course, but with our track record of back sprains, runaway carts and general mayhem in the warehouse, well worth it. We walked away clutching a handful of papers, ate our Swedish meatballs in the cafe, walked through the very short queue, paid for everything, and walked out past people in the loading zone wrestling flat packs into their vehicles without ever touching a single flat pack!

It remains to be seen if it all works as promised. The smug smiles might vanish with the blue skies. We are supposed to take delivery on Saturday--the perfect way to spend a rainy weekend--trying to interpret the wordless assembly instructions for a desk and a bookshelf...
