Sea Urchin

By seaurchin

A day spent wandering through Thiers and Châteldon. The heat was heavy and the amazing sight of the mammatus clouds in Châteldon were a good indication that storms were brewing. Sure enough we were treated to the mother of all storms that evening. Nick and I stood on the balcony of our room and watched as three storms moved across the sky before us. It was terrifying! The lightening was spectacular and the sound deafening. I have experienced huge storms in the Franche Comté, but I don't remember witnessing three huge ones at once. At one point as I stepped out on to the balcony a bat swooped down as the lightening lit up the sky. I decided to call time, fastened the shutters and went to bed.
