In town doing some bank stuff. Had enough time on the pay-and-display machine to go for a blip wander. Not much blippable, really, the weather was being a bit nasty anyway, and the clampers seemed to have got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning and didn't look as if they'd listen sympathetically to a blipping excuse. So, what to do in a rush? When in doubt, explore untrodden byways. As far as I remember, I've never set foot before in Herbert Lane, and I've certainly never been in the little un-named laneway which leads to it off Herbert Street. No. 57 is at the dead-end end and took my fancy because it was so different from its neighbours. Even above its own stonework bottom storey it's pretty ordinary itself.
