Urbino: townscape viewed from the west

Another late afternoon photograph, the Palazzo Ducale (Duke's Palace) occupying much of the right hand side, the town's cathedral is to the left.

The Palace, commissioned by Federico, is spacious and uncluttered by crowds of tourists. You can soak up its atmosphere at leisure; the studiolo (the Duke's small inlaid study) is a fine reflection of the inspiration and humanist aspirations of the Renaissance.
