English Girl in Berlin

Musee d'Orsay

Our first rainy day in Paris so E and I paid a visit to Musee d'Orsay to enjoy the impressionist works – Monet, Degas, Renoir, Cézanne and Manet. The museum was spectacular – housed in the former Orsay railway station which had been threatened with demolition in the 1970s.

We then sampled the best crepes (salted caramel and stewed apple) at Galette Cafe along with artisan apple cider. The rest of the afternoon was spent shopping in St Germain – vintage posters, books and beautiful things.

A quick beer at Le Bar du Marche before heading home for the evening.
