A Dog's Dinner

Sprite

Meet Sprite - he's Bella's horse. The first we heard of this was when Bella told her other granny, on Saturday.

Granny Karen was telling her that that when she was wee she had a pony which came on the train in it's very own horse box.

Of course Bella was wide eyed in wonder at the thought of a horse on a train and her very own granny having one in the first place, but not to be outdone she declared that she had a horse of her own 'up north', called Sprite, which shares a field with her other horse called Nutmeg.

Other things I learned today while talking to our neighbour who does own the horses.

Artificial insemination cost around £40.00.

Piglets cost around £30.00.

Highland cattle, like his,can stay on the 'hill' right through the winter with some supplementary feeding.

The things you learn.
