A Grand Day out

Mrs Soup was home today so we decided to go to London for a photo shoot, to try out some of the tips we had picked up from watching the dvd earlier this week and have a spot of lunch.

First stop was the refectory cafe in Southwark Cathedral. Here we took photos of our cups of coffee in the ambient lighting. Mrs Soup’s had a heart shape swirled in the froth.

We left here to head off for lunch and outside the cathedral spotted the building reflected in some puddles. While I was taking a photo the pigeon above came by for a drink.

We took advantage of the Evening Standard’s lunch time meal deal and went to an Italian restaurant where we had a 2 course meal and glass of wine for £15 overlooking the river.

We then went to along to Tower Bridge and St Katherine’s dock to take more snaps.

Feeling thirsty we went to The George. My Dad had his retirement do here in 1982 and I don’t recall going back since. After a couple of drinks we headed out to try our hand at night photography. The small tripods we had carried with us came in handy.

A long but lovely day.
