Out of shot to the top is the living-room ceiling, expertly stripped of woodchip on Wednesday and now half-painted white, over the pink. Pink. Actual pink, not just the natural plaster colour. There were tufts of pink carpet underneath the yellowybeige carpet we took out last year. A pink living-room, to go with the yellow and green tiles we found under the lino in the hall. Odd, what some people will tolerate, or even encourage.
