Scoughall

The sign at the entrance to the road down to Scoughall (pronounced skol as in cheers) Farm has been waiting to be blip for a while.

The history of Scoughall is quite interesting. Robert Louis Stevenson was related to the tenant farmer of Scoughall and spent several boyhood holidays at Scoughall. The myth of the 'Pagans of Scoughall' gave Stevenson the idea for his story 'The Wreckers'. Stevenson also wrote in his novel 'Catriona' (sequel to Kidnapped) of the 'Lights of Scoughall'.
