I think sometimes us Brits beat ourselves up about the fact that we don't speak other languages. But , the things is, if you try, and then a native speaker hoots with laughter at your pronunciation, then it's quite easy to throw the towel in and give up. Isn't it?

Heaven's sake, I am always polite and just quietly repeat the word correctly to a non-English speaker when they are speaking English.

Debsthought left a comment on my blip stating that she was reading the blurb and comments in a Scottish accent in her head. So I propose that when we all read blips, in our heads we should be reading in the accent of the blipper. In fact, not just in our heads. Let's all read them out loud in the correct accent.
