Not long now

Just over a month to the marathon.

It's supposed to be a low mileage weekend so I went out for 10 miles or so with Son #1 cycling alongside me. It was great. It made the time pass much more quickly, he enjoyed himself and we chewed the cud about birthday options, football, the freezing cold hands he was suffering from and whether landslides happen in the Avon Gorge (they do!).

Our end point was Mum & Dad's in Clifton where we were treated to a lovely cooked breakfast and some parental/grand parental spoiling. Back home to a shared bath (I had the tap end..!) and mushrooms on toast (with a parmesan dusting).

Then a post lunch cup of tea and a snooze on the bed as the sun flooded through the window. It was glorious.

Then, light the fire and contemplate doing some work for school and organising our finances.

And then maybe another cup of tea.

Currently dreaming along to this! I played it in a lesson on Friday as the students were working away on a task and it met with some approval. A bit poppy, a bit fey maybe but it's conjured up an early evening walk along a French beach in the golden hour for me.

Oh, and the running shoes? We have fallen in love.
