A day of contrasts

We parked near Sandersfoot Castle and cycled along the Rodwell Trail in bright sunshine ( all jobs at home left for another less fine day) but when we reached the Portland causeway the wind gusts were phenomenal and quite scary. Even when we pushed the bikes it was hard to keep them upright so after about 3 miles we cycled back to the car and went to the Bill. The bottom view is of Weymouth Bay looking towards Sandersfoot Castle- the cliffs as white as those at Dover.

Crowds were gathering and photographers were dotted about capturing the waves breaking. How many were Blippers I wonder? We positioned ourselves near a crack in the rocks where the seas were boilling in then breaking and occasionally at the narrowest point shooting up through a blow-hole spraying with such force like a fountain. It was awesome and hard not to squeal when it happened. I felt like clapping as though Nature was putting on a show!

The Fossil Lady of Lyme - the one woman show with Alison Neil we saw last night was brilliant - totally absorbing and very moving - Mary Anning was truly remarkable - thank goodness for Artsreach. I would also recommend Tracy Chevalier's novel about her too-' Remarkable Creatures'.
