i've long wanted to amass a bilp series of graffiti specimens, but there just isn't that much graffiti to work with in this town. there was a brief period where paste-up graffiti a la swoon seemed to be making some kind of inroads but that faded pretty fast. this little example was drawn on the side of a local bar. the building is clad in cor-ten steel, the texture of which makes for a beautiful surface you can attack with sticks of chalk to create non-permanent forms of urban self-expression. this one was completed with a somewhat more permanent media.
