Horeston Grange New Baptistery Stand

Today we used a flower vase stand to put our wooden Baptistery on, for an Infant Baptism. The church was full, with 80 adults & 20 children. Normally, we are 24 adults and no children.

Anyway, getting back to our stand. Now a really good friend of mine, she is an artist, taught me how to dress up stands in order to disguise their not so attractive sides from view. Using yellow to represent the rising spirit coming up out of the watery cascade using a translucent clothe. The top of the stand was just big enough to hold our church Baptistery and at the right height so that myself and the family could stand a face the congregation.

In the past the Baptistery has been preached on the corner edge of our Communion Table, which has meant that I have had to turn my back to the congregation.

In time this stand will be painted white, for all future baptisms.
