The Grove Boat Sheds

This photo was taken at a small settlement on Queen Charlotte Drive (a scenic road that winds its way around the top of the South Island), called Grove, which is on the way to Picton. While we were at Grove, we saw a stingray up close, then when we got to Picton, we saw another one! I've never seen one before, and then I see two in one day!

We decided to come home today, rather than waste money on another nights accommodation, when we weren't really that far from home - although it was 587km from Nelson to Timaru, but we got home about 9.30pm, so it wasn't too bad.

We stopped at Havelock, Picton, Blenheim, Kaikoura, where we took photos of seals, and an old abandoned house between Kaikoura and Cheviot. We were able to go inside, which was amazing - it was full of old newspapers and magazines from the mid to late 1970's, so it's been abandoned since then, obviously.

Bertie and Boogle were waiting when we got home. We'll collect Pippy, Sweetpea, and Myrtle tomorrow morning, so we'll have all the fur children at home then. I can't wait!

I've really enjoyed my holiday, and we're already talking about doing it again next year.
