Field of Light (2014.042)

St Andrew's Square has been transformed by this art installation. Approximately 9,000 glass balls stand atop spring-loaded stalks, connected by fibre optics to light boxes. Across the square they rock gently in the breeze, changing colour in time with some unseen rhythm. In the background, the city lights remain, controlling traffic, illuminating streets, and in this shot, announcing the destination of a local bus service.

Bruce Munro's Field of Light is in the city until April, and is definitely worth a visit.
