Waxwings!

A shot taken through double-glazing hence the poor quality but I was really pleased to get a couple of waxwings at last on the apples I've been putting out all winter.
Starlings had been the only diners so far, and I don't begrudge them. There haven't been as many waxwings visit the UK from their native Continental range this winter because the berry crop has been good, so most stayed where they were. A few came through Orkney, but none this winter, until today, stopped for a bite at my place. The apples were soon use dup but I have restocked and hopefully will get more coming and, perhaps, better shots.
