Anthropomorphism

The Danish newspaper Berlingske Tidende this week wasted no time in pointing out the double standards implied in the death threats made against the Copenhagen Zoo scientific director Bengt Holst. Commenting that the killing and consumption of millions of farm animals in the EEC each year went largely unchallenged amongst the meat eaters in Europe.
Which roughly translated into Danish this reads something like “Køer, grise og høns, som lever deres liv i Satans forgård i små bure og stalde med mavesår for at blive slagtet på samlebånd, så vi kan få billig kød fra supermarkedets containere.”
