AOG Warmup......1....2....3.....

It’s the Squirrels’ turn to shine at the Alternative Olympic Games as day one of their competition begins at the Pacific Northwest Stadium. Scheduled this afternoon is the Speed Tree Climb followed by the See If You Can Find The Buried Nuts event. Fans are eagerly awaiting tomorrow’s High Wire Run and the more light-hearted Bushiest Tail and Who’s Cutest competitions. This competitor found a secluded spot to do some deep knee bends in preparation for the Hanging By An Appendage event which clearly calls for very limber muscles.

Team Gull competition update:

Team Gull barely avoided disqualification after a heated argument with one of the judges at the Aerial Target Pooping event. As in yesterday’s competition, they seemed to lose focus and missed the designated windshield target, along with every other target on the course. Actually, the judge ruled that they were off the course entirely which is when the argument broke out. Once again, they blamed the Cormorants for interfering and taunting from the sidelines. The Gulls are now starting to look like the bad birds of the AOG by insisting the Cormorants be banned from attending the games. The judge acknowledged that he thought he had heard a taunt or two but since he couldn’t be sure he only gave the Cormorants a stern warning. We hope this will put an end to this unfortunate display of temperament and baby bird-like behavior.

This reporter hopes a good night’s rest will get everyone back on track for upcoming events.
