The North Wind Doth Blow!

First thing this morning the sun was shining and Hollie and I managed a walk on the beach. With no other dogs around I let her off the lead and she had a wee scamper around while I watched the large shorebirds (oyster catchers, curlew and redshank) feeding in the shallows.
Just before the weather took a turn for the worse - squalls, wind and horizontal rain - I spotted, through the bedroom window, our wee robin sheltering beside the tree.

The North wind doth blow and we shall have snow,
And what will the robin do then, poor thing?
He'll sit in a barn and keep himself warm
And hide his head under his wing, poor thing.

A rhyme from my childhood.
