What a day...

We were going to go to the shops and then on for a walk. We stepped out of the car by the shop and the few seconds of hail, sleet and wind we encountered were enough to put us off the idea of any walk. More pottering around in the house sorting out a few untidy corners ensued
I did make a break for the shore in a short respite and got the image above. Hard to focus on the sand as it moved. I love the shape of these shells - a whelk in this case. All sorts of maths in the spiral, Fibonacci to name but one.
I will never forget in student days when shellfish sellers still came around the pubs on a Saturday night, I asked one what whelks taste like. "Radials" he replied and he didn't sell many.
