Bathsheba, Barbados

Today we drove over to the east coast of Barbados to a place called Bathsheba, which has a famous large rock just off the beach. However I didn't choose to blip that as I thought this shot was a better picture.

Before we went to Bathsheba we stopped at St. Nicholas Abbey which is a sugar cane plantation where they crush the cane on a steam driven and very old piece of machinery. They also produce various rums as well. We took the tour of the house, grounds and the sugar cane crushing. After that we sat on the terrace, listened to a guy playing the steel drum and drank rum punch. A great morning.

After that we headed over to the east coast and drove down the spectacular Atlantic Coast to Bathsheba. We had lunch at the Atlantis hotel and then spent some time on the spectacular beach at Bathsheba before we drove part way back up the coast and took a long walk on a stunning beach with not another person on it. Fantastic afternoon.

This photo looks lovely large.
