Not so brief encounter.

Got on the sleeper at London Euston last night just after 11.15pm. Got off it in Glasgow Central today at 1.02pm - almost six hours later than scheduled.

Much of that time was spent in Preston Station, seen here in the darkness of the early morning.

But it is worth repeating that whilst bad weather and subsequent delays are unavoidable putting up with them is a lot easier when you are with people like the Caledonian Sleeper staff (and my colleagues who were in London with me and who only occasionally reminded me it was my idea to come back overnight !)
